In the recent past my painting fell into two categories; either they were preludes to textile works or I underpinned paintings with layers of fabric & stitch.

In the recent past I returned far more to painting: Relying primarily on this medium to record my viewpoint of the town of Slough in wall mounted paintings or in books. For both I favoured acrylics. I continue to use paint in my New Forest books and studies, but now I prefer the medium of water colour.

Also paint has been my primary choice to descibe my impressions of Lebanon, where I stay from time to time in the homes of Beiruti families: I use the opportunity to make studies & sketches of the country which form the basis of developed works in paint or textile on returning home.
